The football team hosts Region foe Ensworth Friday in a key matchup of the two DII-AAA rivals. Kickoff at Spears Stadium is set for 7:30 p.m.
The Blue Tornado and the Tigers have split each of the last four games with Ensworth claiming a 42-28 victory last season in Nashville.
Both teams enter the contest with identical 3-1 records. The Tigers are 1-0 in league play after last week’s 35-21 win over Baylor. Ensworth’s lone loss is a one-point decision, 21-20 to Christ Presbyterian Academy.
The Blue Tornado will try to get in the win column within the division, standing 0-1 after a 35-23 loss at Montgomery Bell Academy September 1.
Last week, McCallie scored seven rushing touchdowns which led to a 49-22 home win over Knox Webb. Sophomore quarterback Deangelo Hardy reached the end zone four times, and senior back Xavier Brooks scored three times.
The offense is averaging 42.7 points per game and has scored 44 or more points in three of the four games.
Ensworth faced Knox Webb on the road two weeks ago and brought home a 35-14 victory.
