A big weekend for McCallie in Nashville and on the river

McCallie athletes are on the move this weekend on land and water as they compete for major championships.

The cross-country team is in Nashville this weekend running for a state championship Saturday at the Steeplechase Course at Percy Warner Park in. The TSSAA Division II boys race begins at 2:15 pm ET.

enior Chris Duncan, juniors Walton Bedell, Dawson Carmack, Raif Gork and Nathan Wagoner, sophomores John Arrowsmith, Samuel Ligon, Duke Richey and Dylan Zeller and freshman Benjamin Niehaus.

McCallie has won Division II state titles in 2001, 2005, 2006, 2012 and 2013.

In addition, McCallie's rowing team will go up against teams from across the country and North America in this weekend's Head of the Hooch regatta in Chattanooga.

Hundreds of college, club and prep boats and teams will be in town. The McCallie boats will be rowing out of the GPS boathouse, and Coach Sean McCourt recommends the best place to watch the races is on the Walnut Street Bridge. The event is truly a spectacle.
