The football team travels to West Tennessee November 10 for a TSSAA quarterfinal playoff game against Briarcrest Christian in East Memphis. Kickoff is at 8:00 p.m. ET.
Both the Blue Tornado and the Saints received first-round playoff byes. McCallie is the No. 3 seed in the East/Middle Region of Division II-AAA after finishing the regular season with a 7-3 overall record and a 4-2 league mark.
The Saints are the West Region’s second seed and enter the game with a 9-1 record, 2-1 in the four-team West division. Briarcrest’s only loss this season is a 49-7 defeat to top-rated Christian Brothers, also in the West Region. The team is averaging 36.1 points per game and scored 40 or more points five times this year.
McCallie’s last time on the field was the regular-season finale October 27, a 45-7 victory over Father Ryan. In the win, the Blue Tornado scored five rushing touchdowns, one through the air and kicked a field goal for good measure.
The winner of this quarterfinal game will face the winner of the Brentwood Academy-Memphis University School game and play November 17. The site is to be determined.
Tickets are $8.00 and can be purchased at the stadium entrance. The game can be viewed on the NFHS Sports Network’s live video stream, however there is a fee.
