The McCallie Invitational Wrestling Tournament brings more than 30 teams to the McCallie School campus Dec. 15 and 16 for a two-day wrestling tournament. The MIWT has been a prominent wrestling event in the Southeast with high-level competition since 1981.
This year’s tournament, held in the Sports and Activities Center, features teams from Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia and South Carolina.
The Blue Tornado are eight-time MIWT champions and were tournament runners up last year.
Friday’s six-mat action begins at 5:00 pm and runs through 10:00 pm. Saturday’s consolation rounds start at 10:00 am. The championship semifinals begin at 11:00 am, and the consolation and championship finals are scheduled to start around 3:30 pm.
Admission prices are $15 for a day pass for adults, $10 for students ages 6-18. Children five and under are free. A two-day tournament pass is $20, $15 for students ages 6-18. Tickets to attend only the finals session are $5.
